Schibsted Media Group is by far the largest company in the publishing activities industry in Norway based on the turnover of over 19 billion Norwegian kroner in 2021. As of 2019, the media company generated an operating revenue of more than 19 billion Norwegian kroner.
Publishing activities in Norway
The ranking of the 20 leading Norwegian companies displayed here does not only include printed media publishers, but also computer programming, as well as software publishers. The supplier of business software Visma, for example, was the second largest enterprise in this industry. In addition to Norway, the company also operates in other European countries, such as Sweden. Here, it belongs to the most profitable publishers as well.
The value of the Norwegian publishing industry
In the past years, the value of the publishing industry in Norway constantly decreased to roughly 22.6 billion Norwegian kroner in 2018. By contrast, the revenue amounted to over 28 billion Norwegian kroner as of 2009.
